Ala-Too Square

Ala-too square

BishkekKyrgyzstan • 860 m

Ala-Too is the heart of Bishkek, because all tourist routes start from here.
It is not surprising that the central square of the capital, consisting of rocky ridges is called Ala-Too, in the Kyrgyz translation "Ala" means "sharp", and "too" - "mountain". In the middle of the Ala-Too stands a 45-meter pole with a state flag of quite impressive size. There is also a change of honor guard. It is here that the bronze figure of Manas the Generous is located-the hero of the epic "Aikol Manas". The bronze statue is 4.5 m high and depicts Manas, in Oriental armor, riding on the magic horse Ak-Kula with his arm extended towards the sky.
