I went on a great winter trip to Son Kol with Nomad's Land. It was well organized, guides were great, and left enough freedom for a real sense of adventure that group tours aren't always able to offer. I'd happily recommend them to others for trips around KG.
Testimonials
We went for a 5 day full board trip with our guide Bakyt, of which 3 days was on horseback. Bakyt was extremely accomodating and serviceoriented throughout the trip. He really did go that extra step to make us comfortable. He offered an unplanned detour at little to no extra cost and he was very good at english. I really recommend Nomads land and especially Bakyt.
We arrived in Bishkek with no plans. We went to the Nomad's Land office and they were really helpful. They tailored a trip for us and the organisation was incredible. We got to do some horse trekking and some hiking with knowledgeable guides. We definitely recommend (100%!!). Greetings to all the team !
Very reliable and good organization! Have helped us all around to plan our road trip, big plus: very flexible people, adapt their trips to your personal requirements and works with local partners (cool if you want to learn the local culture and inhabitants). Also renting camping/trekking equipment and possible to stay the night/eat in their guesthouse (Bishkek). Highly recommend this for travelers! FYI: the guide Shamil is amazing and very funny (we did a Song Kol Horse trip with him)
Excellent company Many thanks to Bakyt, Hybeck, Pacha Sergei and of course to Ais who fully understood my expectations, Thank you Nomad's Land for these 8 dream days
I found within Nomad's Land exactly the values I was looking for: An association on a human scale where the organizers (among others Fabien Selosse and AJ Johnson) get involved personally to meet the needs, requests and desires of the participants. An association whose goal is to discover - and even more: to promote - the populations and local traditions. They take us out of our European comfort with skill and control so that we can get closer to the reality of the nomadic populations of Kyrgyzstan. The local guides who accompanied us were professional, genuine and trustworthy. The landscapes are breathtaking. I was able to practice my passion for two weeks in a magical context and in all serenity. A unique experience, an exceptional trip! I only want to go back! You will understand, Nomad's Land is an association that I recommend 100%.
An incredible 8-day experience in the south of Kyrgyzstan, a transhumance with the Nomad's Land agency. Not necessarily reassured since a novice in horse riding, but well taken into account by Fabien our guide (French!), With a full day of discovery before starting the journey. What I particularly appreciated: the privileged relationship with the family. We made this transhumance with the whole family of Kyrgyz herders and shepherds (about ten people), our guide, and only 3 tourists. An exceptional memory to sleep in the middle of this family in the Yurt built a little earlier in the middle of nowhere. As much as following and leading the sheep in the middle of valleys, mountains and gigantic scenery. A big thank you to our guide Fabien for all his anecdotes about the country, who will have transmitted to us his love (even obsession!) Of the country! If you dream of wide open spaces, and are not afraid of the cold (the temperature can go down at night in these mountains!) Go for it!
Tailor-made at a low price! The Nomad's Land team prepared with us the program we wanted without costing us a fortune, on the contrary, we were surprised at the advantageous price. We were very happy with our guides, in Uzbekistan as in Kyrgyzstan, always attentive, and very flexible. We have changed our program several times along the way, without it costing us anything. From the moment we arrived at Bishkek airport, we immediately felt safe and comfortable with our guide. Unforgettable moments spent within the local culture and traditions. And the desire to return there soon. Nomad's Land was recommended to you by friends after a trip through the Tajik and Kyrgyz Pamirs. We quickly realized that the preparation of our trip had been complicated because we had hardly encountered other travelers on remote roads and trails. Without hesitation, we recommend this agency.
After contacting several competitors, we decided on Nomads Land. They worked with us to design a trip perfect for the needs of our young kids, seeing all the sights we wanted in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. English speaking guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Drivers were skilled. Highly recommend traveling with their team!
We went on a trek with Nomad's Land in July 2019 and were thoroughly satisfied with their organization, attention to detail, and responsiveness. HIghly recommend.
We have visited Kyrgyzstan with the agency Nomad’s Land and we had a great experience with them. They planned and customized the trip to our preferences and they provided us very professional guide and drivers. They were in contact with us during the planning and also during the trip, which is very appreciated. In our case, we preferred to have an organized trip because we had only one week in the country and we wanted to do some hikking as well, therefore, it saved us a lot of time. We would defintely recommend the agency to anyone travelling to central asia.
We booked a 8 day tour with Nomad's Land, with the main part of the trip a six-day trek in the mountains near Issyk-Kul lake. From the first contact with Nomad's Land they were really responsive, taking time to understand our needs and suggesting a trip that would work for us. As we were travelling quite early in the trekking season (mid-late May), the team made sure that our itinerary would be possible, making adjustments as required. Bakyt organised our trip and was really helpful all the way through the process. On arrival at the airport in Bishkek we were met by our guide Mikel and assistant guide Ivan, and were driven down to the lake by our excellent driver Shakir. The whole team were really welcoming. We spent the first night at Bel Tam Yurt camp which was lovely. Really relaxing and the food was amazing. The next day we started our trek which was incredible! We met our horseman, Ermek, and the two horses that carried all our equipment. This was really helpful so we didn't have too much to carry each day! On the first day the weather was lovely but the next morning we were greeted by a lot of snow! Because of this Mikel took the decision to change our route, which was definitely the right decision as going high in the snow might have been dangerous (and certainly very cold). The whole of the rest of the trip Mikel, Ivan and Ermek took the time to make sure what we were doing was the right thing for the weather conditions, and when we had to change plans they made sure we were consulted and agreed. The food Mikel prepared was really good, and the tents were comfortable, warm and waterproof. We had a great time in the mountains. After our trek ended we spent a day exploring the lake region, including visiting an eagle hunter and a yurt-making business, and on the final day we got to see a little of Bishkek. It was the perfect end to a great trip. Overall I would highly recommend Nomad's Land and the great service from all the team. Thank you!
Nomad's Land (Alex) helped us to plan and organize 8-days self-guided trekking in the mountains surrounding Karakol. It was our first visit in Kyrgystan and it was really good to rely on advices and suggestions of someone having mountain experince and knowledge of the local customs. The trekking was great, we started at Jeti-Oguz, then crossed Telety Pass, went down to Karakol valley, ascent to Alakul Lake, crossed Alakul Pass and went down the valley to Aksu. Nomad's Land arranged for us a nice trip from Karakol to Almaty by a private car, during which we visited the amazing Sharyn Canyon.
Very good reception, advice from mountain professionals, a wide range of offers and above all flexibility.
It is an agency run by professionals and enthusiasts, they know the country well and have impeccable ethics.
10 days of ski touring in Kyrgyzstan with New Year in the yurt. A top stay with Nomad's land which made us discover and love a little known country. 3 ski touring spots with abundant snow, perfect weather and plenty of unexpected discoveries during the stay.
I had been to Kyrgyzstan before, but only to the cities and to Issyk Kul. However, I really wanted to get out of the cities and visit more of the countryside and do some trekking through Naryn Oblast especially. The tour with Nomad's Land was excellent for this purpose as there were treks around Issyk Kul, Song Kul, as well as in the mountains near the Chinese border around the caravanserai at Tash Rabat, the last 3 of which we got to stay in yurts and witness nomadic life -- especially near Song Kul. The tour began in Bishkek and the guide was very knowledgeable about the city and the country. Afterwards the hikes were at various altitudes to acclimatize us, finally finishing with a horseback ride and hike at over 4000 meters. This last one was rough for me (I'm 54 years old), but with the previous hikes, I managed to make it. Actually, the horseback riding wore me out more than the hiking, but it was fun and the guides around the country were all helpful and great. There were also cultural things we did as well, like visit a yurt maker and have traditional Kyrgyz meals in peoples' homes. All in all, a very worthwhile and enjoyable trip that gives a great overall picture of Kyrgyzstan.
Great service, manager takes time to understand the wishes of clients, tailor made trips were great and good value for money.
I have been to Kyrgyzstan several times, the most beautiful trips I have had the opportunity to do. Each time Nomad's Land has organized my stays and I would like to thank them here for their professionalism and dedication.
The best tour agency I've ever had. Highly recomended. I am so glad and thankful for choosing Nomad's Land for my Kyrgyz travel experience. They were the only tour that listened to my wishes and tried to implement them all. They literally left not even one desire unfulfilled: The other tours I contacted were unable to provide me with a yurt accommodation in lake Song-Köl. Nomad's Land was on the contrary very ccoperative. Especially once I knew that the yurt camp owners in Song-Köl waited extra for me before leaving, I was very touched. It seemed to me that Nomad's Land has a wide network of contacts in Kyrgyzstan and they have long and solid experience in the country. The people, yurt camps and hotels Nomad's Land work with, are beyond what I call good. They are perfectly chosen. Thank you Bakyt for not leaving even one desire unfulfilled and cheers to the whole team, including the guide Timurlan and the managers Alex and Samuel.
