Guesthouse Meimandos

Situated in Karakol city in the Issyk Kul Oblast at 1800 m. alt. The house is located in a quiet region of the old town at 300 m. away from the Victory park (park «Pobeda»), near the road leading up to the ski resort.The guest house was refurbished into semi-antique style. The house separated into two parts, has four bedrooms and a lounge.There is one bathroom in each part of the house. Banya/Lunch/Dinner have to be ordered in advance. Winter yurts at Song Koul Lake are open for visitors from December to April and are located near the frozen Song Koul Lake. Summer is a place full of life filled with shepherds, flocks and travelers, but in winter, nature takes back its rights, and no one lives at the edge of the lake which freezes completely and whose landscape is transforms into arctic tundra with nights that can go down to -40 ° C in the heart of winter. 

An exceptional landscape of adventure with polar climatic conditions is then offered to the rare visitors. To get there, you will have to spend 6 hours on horseback or snowshoes and cross a pass at 3200m altitude. 

The Nomad's Land eco-touristic agency, which has developed this extraordinary adventure, will be happy to organize it for you. The number of places is limited to 12 people, distributed in 2 yurts of 6 well heated beds, connected to a refectory / main kitchen yurt. 

The result is unique and allows you to enjoy the magic of the place comfortably. We sleep on comfortable beds made of pallets and the meals on offer are plentiful. No showers, and the toilets are latrines away from the camp. Solar electricity, no cellular network or Wi-Fi. Yurts only welcome travelers by reservation.

Elshan Guest House. We have been working as tourists for five years. We can show you the Chon-Kyzyl-Suu mountains ourselves and of course we have ecological products. The house is located between two mountains. There is a national house Yurt. And of course beautiful thoroughbred horses.

You can also take the minibuses (marshrutka), it's definitely cheaper and much more difficult, but it's a 100% authentic local experience: - From the bus station, walk 5 min towards south until you reach Chuy street (a main west/east boulevard), next to Osh Bazaar.  - Take the minibus 122 or 212 driving towards east on Chuy street from a bus stop. - A ride costs 10 soms per person, pay to the driver when you get in. - The ride can take up to 35-45min. - Mind your bags and beware of pickpokets in the minibusses. - At the crossroads of Yunusalieva street ( which is still call Karl Marx by the Bishkekians) and Zhigulevskaia street, get out of the bus (TS white building, Castrol green oil shop, Supermarket Народный). - Walk towards east on Zhigulevskaia street. - Skip the first crossroad, and at the second one turn left towards north on Shukurova street. - Walk down 40m on Shukurova street till number 39 (west side of the street). - Congrats!
