Kashkator North pass

Situated at an altitude of 3929 meters, this high mountain pass stands as a silent sentinel between the Gorge of Kichi Kyzyl Suu and the Jukutchak Gorge. This natural spectacle offers a panoramic canvas of the surrounding peaks and valleys.

To the north, the pass opens up to a breathtaking view of the 5000 towering peaks of Karakol and Oguz Bashi, their snow-capped majesty dominating the horizon. The air is crisp, and the panorama stretches to capture the rugged grandeur of It-Tish Peak (4808 m) on the western front, overseeing the vast expanse of the Juku Valley below.

At the foot of the north side of the pass lies a pristine alpine tableau—a small glacial lake mirrors the towering peaks, while a resilient glacier etches its mark on the landscape. The descent from the pass on this side is an challenge, as a steep track winds down, offering both a test of skill and a visual feast for those daring to traverse it.

On the contrasting southern side, the landscape transforms into high pastures, more forgiving in gradient compared to its northern counterpart. The verdant meadows, dotted with alpine flowers, provide a welcome contrast to the rocky, snow-laden north. Here, the journey is marked by a sense of tranquility as the trail meanders through the rolling highlands.
