Money exchange in Tajikistan

As of October 30, 2000, Somoni is a national currency of Tajikistan, which became a worthy replacement of the Tajik Rouble. International designation – TJS. One Somoni is equal to 100 Dirams.  Present day on the territory of Tajikistan banknotes of the following nominal are involved in the monetary circulation: 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 1, 5, 20, 50 Dirams and coins: 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50 Dirams and 1, 3 and 5 Somoni. Name of the Tajik national currency derives from the name of Ismail Somoni, the founder of the first Tajik state.
