What cannot be exported from Tajikistan

Historical and cultural objects protected by the state and included in the state register of cultural heritage.

  • Museum exhibits and archival materials, as well as items from state and private collections that are of cultural or historical value.
  • Archaeological and historical finds, including items associated with prominent figures, events, or traditions of Tajikistan.
  • Fragments of architectural monuments, monuments, and artistic structures located within the country.
  • Items discovered during archaeological excavations, regardless of their condition.
  • Religious objects and ancient manuscripts created before the 19th century, including icons, scrolls, and religious artifacts.
  • Rare and unique items over 50 years old made of precious metals, stones, or other valuable materials, without official permission.
  • Wild animals and plants listed in the Red Book of Tajikistan, as well as souvenirs made from their parts (skins, horns, bones, feathers).
  • Weapons, ammunition, and explosives, which are prohibited from export without permission.
  • Narcotic, psychotropic, and potent drugs, not accompanied by documents or a doctor's prescription.

Goods that may only be exported with permission

  • Antiques and art objects that are more than 50 years old and are not included in the list of protected objects — only with an expert opinion and official permission.
  • National musical instruments, decorative and applied art objects, and folk art objects of cultural value.
  • Jewelry and items made of precious metals and stones that have historical, artistic, or cultural value.
  • Pets, including birds and small mammals, with a veterinary passport and international permits.
  • Plants, seeds, seedlings, and products of plant origin — only with a phytosanitary certificate.
  • Products of animal origin (meat, fish, caviar, etc.) — with a veterinary certificate and in permissible quantities.
  • Medicines containing potent or psychotropic substances — only with a doctor's prescription.
  • Sports weapons, hunting knives, and their components — only with official permits.
  • Cash and valuables exceeding the limit established by law — mandatory declaration.
